Kitchen Shift Manager

We are seeking a Kitchen Shift Manager for our client, Ravintola Tampella, for a permanent position! Ravintola Tampella is an à la carte and lunch restaurant that has already earned a classic reputation, located in a prestigious setting by the Tammerkoski river. We invest in professional skills, quality and service, both in the kitchen and on the restaurant floor. We never compromise on quality and standards, yet we are an approachable and popular restaurant throughout the year, from one season to the next. Our food philosophy combines classic European and Finnish cuisine with small twists. We use and value high-quality ingredients, and aim to prepare everything from scratch. Tampella has been operating since 2016 and is a privately owned family business. Our dining room has around 150 customer seats. In addition to regular à la carte and lunch services, we host private events of various sizes and welcome many larger groups. We are looking for a proactive and motivated chef with experience in an à la carte kitchen and preferably also in kitchen shift manager duties. You stay calm even when it is busy and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. We value versatile kitchen skills, especially experience working on the hot side and frying. However, we are not looking for a perfect candidate or someone with decades of experience; the most important things are the right attitude, a willingness to learn and a desire to develop your professional skills. We have established practices and ways of working, while also encouraging you to contribute your own expertise and ideas. You will work professionally as part of a good team, so excellent teamwork and leadership skills and the ability to get along with different kinds of people are essential for success in this role. Shifts are mainly in the evenings and on weekends, so the work focuses primarily on à la carte service rather than lunch service.
