Salon city's basic education Ollikkalan school currently has a permanent teaching assistant position available, 25 hours per week. Ollikkalan school serves about 220 students and around 30 education professionals work together for the benefit of the pupils. In our school we study with diverse teaching methods, learner-centered approach, activity-based learning, cross-class collaboration, internationality and pupil participation are central. Your role will include supporting pupils’ upbringing as a key part of their education and guiding learning in the sixth grade special class. You will also participate in planning the guidance for student wellbeing with your partner and implement class activities together with other teaching staff. We are a reliable and stable employer. The position requires qualification as a school assistant or equivalent in care, youth or education sector. Adaptability to different situations and good collaboration and group-management skills are required. Preference will be given to experience working with children of different ages and pupils requiring different kinds of support, as well as language-sensitive guidance. We value flexibility, initiative and positive pedagogy as well as solution-oriented work approach. The position pays at step level 2379.57 euros per month (100% of full-time). In addition, depending on tenure there may be additional pay according to the collective agreement. We also pay a personal allowance to all employees whose service has lasted over 6 months. Work and salary payments pause during school breaks to the extent that the employee does not have annual leave. The successful candidate will present a criminal record extract in accordance with the Act 504/2002 on the investigation of the criminal background of persons working with children. A six-month probation period applies if the terms of the collective agreement are met. The position starts as soon as possible / as agreed.
