Palomies, welcome to join our team at the Western Uusimaa Fire Department. The firefighter duties involve participation in rescue operations, provision of prehospital emergency care, and prevention work related to accidents. Prevention tasks include safety communications as well as advisory and informational duties. We offer modern personal protective equipment and state-of-the-art rescue equipment. We invest in ongoing staff development and provide opportunities to specialize in various tasks, such as rescue diver or boat operator. The Fire Department supports staff wellbeing and professional growth in a planned way. Supervisors are continually trained to provide high-quality support in daily work. In our region, new fire stations are being built, expanding service provision and offering diverse work opportunities across Western Uusimaa. For applicants pursuing a firefighter qualification, eligibility will be assessed case-by-case. With this application you can apply for summer vacation substitutes and other fixed-term firefighter roles. Location: Länsi-Uudenmaan hyvinvointialue / Länsi-Uudenmaan pelastuslaitos, Palomiehentie 1, 02750 Espoo. Working hours: shift pattern under special exemption, 42 hours per week. Positions are temporary. Start date to be agreed separately. Requirements: for a full-time firefighting crew, the required qualifications include vaccinations under the Infectious Diseases Act section 48, consent to security clearance and a drug test as per the security clearance act and the employer’s drug program, and BC-class driving license. We value broad experience across firefighting and other sectors, experience as a basic prehospital caregiver, and Swedish language skills.
