Senior Software Engineer – NR-NTN Protocols (L1 & L2)

Skylo is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our Protocol Stack team, focused on the development and optimization of 5G NR-NTN Layer 1 and Layer 2 protocol implementations. In this role, you will design, implement, and validate PHY, MAC, FAPI, and scheduler software that runs on Skylo's NTN vRAN platform, working closely with our RF, systems, and integration teams to bring NR-NTN connectivity to market at scale. What You’ll Do include designing and maintaining C++ implementations of 5G NR-NTN L1/L2 stacks, implementing NTN-specific L1 adaptations, extending and optimizing the MAC scheduler, designing the FAPI interface between MAC and PHY, developing DL/UL schedulers, and more. The role requires 2+ years of hands-on software engineering in wireless/telecom protocol development, a Master's or PhD, strong C++ proficiency, and extensive NR PHY/MAC knowledge.
