In Finland, Volvo Construction Equipment’s operations include new equipment sales, aftermarket services and equipment customization. The company develops and supplies sustainable, safe and efficient solutions for infrastructure, construction and mining. Volvo CE is known for its strong technological expertise, high quality and long-term commitment to responsibility and customer-oriented development. Volvo Construction Equipment is guided by strong values centred on belief in people. Volvo CE believes that genuine progress comes from cooperation and close partnerships with customers, suppliers and other stakeholders. Through innovation, the company builds a safer, more efficient and sustainable future, with safety at the heart of everything it does. Volvo CE aims to develop solutions that have a positive impact on people, society and future generations. What would you do with us? We are looking for a heavy-equipment workshop manager for our client Volvo Construction Equipment Finland Oy at its Vantaa site. This is a full-time, fixed-term position expected to last approximately six months, with a possibility of extension. The work should begin as soon as possible, so we hope you can get started quickly. As workshop manager, you will be responsible for the daily operations of the Vantaa heavy-equipment workshop. You will lead a team of 18 mechanics, a service supervisor and two spare parts salespeople. You will ensure that the service supervisor and the whole team have the conditions to succeed in their roles. You will bring clarity to the work and make sure the workshop runs as planned and the overall operation works well. In addition to daily people management, you will monitor workshop operations, reporting and profitability, and use available data to manage and develop the work. You will ensure information flows smoothly through the organisation, work situations remain under control and potential problems are addressed promptly. You will also make use of a commercial and business-oriented approach, identify service and additional-sales opportunities in the workshop’s daily work, and consider how customers could be served more comprehensively. You will support the service supervisor and the rest of the team in commercial thinking and encourage them to recognise situations where customers can be offered services suited to their needs. The work is performed on weekdays during the day and requires a strong presence at the Vantaa site. What are we looking for? Success in this role requires experience in heavy-equipment workshop operations and industrial people-management roles. You have a practical understanding of how a heavy-equipment workshop operates, the roles within its team and what the daily work of mechanics and service supervisors involves. You are a calm and firm manager. You can take charge of a team, communicate clearly and make decisions. You have a natural ability to lead a team constructively and purposefully. You also understand the commercial side of workshop operations and consider work from the customer’s and the business’s point of view. You have an eye for service and additional-sales opportunities and are interested in developing operations so that customers’ needs can be met even better. Previous direct sales experience is not essential, but we value initiative and an interest in developing business and sales. You can interpret workshop figures, budgets and profitability and use them to improve operations. Safety-mindedness is second nature to you, and you address shortcomings without delay. We value strong experience in a people-management role, but the right combination of experience, commercial thinking and personality is what matters most. You have sound basic skills in using different systems and can use data generated by workshop operations to support management. Finnish is essential for the role, while good English skills are an advantage. What do we offer? We offer the opportunity to join a respected international organisation that combines strong technical expertise, good team spirit and a low hierarchy. The Vantaa team is a relaxed and skilled group that supports one another and takes pride in its work. You will have a responsible role where you can take charge of workshop operations and leave your mark on them. You will be able to deepen your expertise in workshop business management and people leadership in a demanding but rewarding environment. The pay level is negotiable and is approximately €4,300–€4,800 per month, depending on your experience and skills. Interested? If this sounds like the right role for you, we would be glad to hear from you as soon as possible, and no later than 24 November 2026. Submit your application through the link. Interviews will begin immediately, and the position will be filled when the right person is found. The recruitment process is carried out in cooperation with Biisoni, which will also be your employer.
