Our component manufacturing unit MTAC is a world-class manufacturer of cylinder heads, connecting rods, engine blocks, and prototype and test parts, through machining and subassembly work. We manufacture products globally for Wärtsilä. Our priorities are safety, quality, high-quality components, delivery accuracy, and flexible manufacturability. We are now looking for a skilled, developing assembly technician with a positive attitude for full-time subassembly work. The position is permanent and based at the Vaasa Sustainable Technology Hub. Are you ready for demanding assembly work that also gives you the opportunity to develop the work? Job description: You will take part in manufacturing engine-block subassemblies and help with related logistics. Modern engine-block manufacturing is a multi-stage process that includes machining, maintaining robotic cells, operating washing machines, handling materials, deburring, pressure testing, and using quality and production-control systems. You will be part of a team responsible for automation and manual work. You will also have the opportunity to develop operations through the existing continuous-improvement approach. Previous similar work experience is useful, but what matters greatly to us is being able to work as part of a team and having a positive attitude towards learning and work. Safety, quality, and people’s well-being are important requirements for us. We do not compromise on them. The following background will help you in the role: - Basic vocational education in the metal industry, or equivalent experience and skills - Commitment and the right attitude to carrying out work stages according to existing instructions and requirements - Ability to read technical assembly and machining drawings - Familiarity with measuring instruments - Readiness for shift work - Readiness to train in automation and robotics - Flexibility with working hours and ability to work in a team - Desire and ability to learn. You are ready to develop yourself and your professional skills purposefully - Familiarity with ABB/Fanuc automation and robotics is an advantage - Fluent Finnish.
