Product Manager

Primary location: Helsinki SOK Market Trade is looking for a Product Manager for the Sales Platform product team. The workplace is our Helsinki office, Ässäkeskus, where we meet colleagues several times a week. When duties allow, you can also work remotely for part of the week. What is the role about? The Product Manager works in a multidisciplinary team responsible for building and developing a shared data platform for sales channels. It enables reliable, real-time product, price and basket pricing in checkout systems, digital services and other sales channels. The Product Manager’s core task is to lead the transition from legacy data solutions towards event-driven architecture in a way that reduces dependence on external system suppliers and increases S Group’s own technological capabilities. The Product Manager ensures that decisions are business-led and works with the team to ensure that platform development is reliable, scalable and developer-friendly, bringing together business, technology and design expertise. Your daily work: You develop a business-critical platform that serves several product teams and the continuous development of commercial operations. The platform’s development directly affects sales-channel capabilities, development speed and future technology solutions, while ensuring it supports business goals and the needs of the teams using it. You contribute to defining the roadmap, OKR objectives and development direction, and monitor their implementation. You work closely with business, technology and design representatives, linking your product team with stakeholders. You assess development needs and balance short-term needs with longer-term architectural goals. You identify risks related to data quality, integrations and dependencies proactively and bring them into decision-making. What kind of professional are we looking for? You can bring together business objectives, technological solutions and the needs of teams using the platform in a way that creates long-term business value and enables continuous platform development. The role requires strong product leadership skills in a demanding software development environment and experience in demanding software development. We hope you have: At least five years of experience in roles combining product leadership with the development of data-intensive or integration solutions in a multidisciplinary team. Understanding of platform product management, developer experience and an API-first approach, as well as the principles of event-driven architecture and event streaming solutions. Understanding of retail commercial logic, product, price and basket pricing structures, and the different needs of sales channels. The ability to build trust through consistent action and explain decisions in terms of business value. The ability to identify risks relating to data integrity and dependencies and raise them proactively. Strong collaboration, communication and influencing skills, and fluent Finnish and English. A suitable higher-education degree (a master’s degree, for example in engineering, computer science or business). Considered an advantage: Experience in platform product leadership and event-driven architecture implementation projects. Experience in a retail or supply-chain business environment. Why choose us?
