Responsibilities
- Develop, integrate, and debug Android-based embedded audio platform software using C/C++
- Develop and troubleshoot Android Audio HAL and Android Audio Framework/AudioFlinger components
- Configure and debug audio routing, audio policies, ALSA interfaces, and device/mixer configurations
- Integrate and troubleshoot Audio DSP and signal-processing functionality and its interaction with the Android audio stack and hardware
- Investigate and debug complex audio issues across Android Framework, Audio HAL, Linux/ALSA, DSP, and hardware layers
- Work hands-on with target hardware and test benches for implementation, debugging, measurement, and verification
- Integrate and support audio functionality across different product and hardware variants
- Perform audio testing, validation, signal analysis, and root-cause investigation using logs, traces, audio dumps, and measurement results
- Support platform bring-up, integration, release, and validation activities
- Collaborate closely with audio developers, embedded engineers, architects, hardware teams, and customer stakeholders
- Participate in software architecture, implementation, code reviews, and technical discussions
- Communicate technical decisions, progress, risks, dependencies, and blockers clearly across teams
Requirements
- Strong professional experience with C and C++ in embedded or platform-level software development
- Strong hands-on experience with Android/AOSP platform-level development, specifically in the Android audio domain
- Hands-on experience developing, integrating, or debugging Android Audio HAL
- Experience with Android Audio Framework components, including AudioFlinger and related audio services
- Hands-on experience with ALSA and Linux audio architecture, including audio routing, mixer controls, and device configuration
- Practical experience with Audio DSP or digital signal processing and its integration within an embedded audio system
- Experience with automotive audio, infotainment, or a comparable embedded audio platform
- Hands-on experience developing, debugging, and validating software on target hardware or test benches
- Experience investigating audio issues across Android Framework, HAL, Linux/ALSA, DSP, and hardware layers
- Experience with audio testing, measurement, signal analysis, routing, or validation
- Strong debugging, analytical, and root-cause analysis skills, including working with logs, traces, audio dumps, and measurement results
- Experience with Git and modern software-development practices
- Ability to work independently, take technical ownership, and operate effectively in a complex integration environment
- Strong communication skills and a pragmatic approach to working with customer, software, hardware, architecture, and partner teams
- Flexibility to support occasional time-critical integration, troubleshooting, or release activities across international teams and time zones
- Ability and willingness to travel to the US when required by the project
- Good spoken and written English
