We are seeking an Executive Director for Viitasaaren Musiikin aika ry, a Finnish nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting and developing contemporary music education and promoting creative and performing music. The role is a permanent, part-time position (at least 60%) as the current executive director moves to a new role. The ED will work with the artistic director to implement the organization’s strategy and will play a key role in developing collaboration with Viitasaari’s Aikamme musiikki center. Responsibilities include festival administration, finances, funding, communications and marketing planning, networking, and leading staff involved in festival production. The position oversees personnel, finances, IT, and other administration; plans and executes festival funding and projects in cooperation with the artistic director; prepares board meetings with the artistic director and acts as secretary; plans and leads production tasks that are demanding and cross-artistic; manages festival communications and marketing; maintains external relations and networks; develops audience engagement and broader outreach. Working time focuses on the July festival and preceding months; remote work is possible, but there is no permanent office. On-site work in Viitasaari is required during festival periods and in related project meetings; travel to project meetings across Europe is occasional. Required: relevant education and strong experience in event production, financial administration, grant writing and reporting, supervision experience, and excellent spoken and written English. Successful performance requires project management skills, collaboration, interpersonal and communication skills, resilience, flexibility, and problem-solving ability; knowledge of IT, driving license, marketing, audience work, and international activities are advantageous.
