In this role, you will lead the Project Management Office (PMO), lead selected strategic programs, and take end-to-end accountability for developing portfolio management practices that connect strategy, business value, and execution. You will play a key role in ensuring that strategic priorities are translated into a structured, well-governed, and executable portfolio of initiatives. In addition, you will establish and continuously develop portfolio management as an integral part of the operating model, enabling transparency of value, risks, and delivery performance across the organization. As Head of PMO & Portfolio Development, you will: Lead and continuously develop Finnair’s PMO and project management capability, including methodologies, governance, tooling, and reporting. Lead, coach, and develop a team of project managers and build a broader PM community across the organisation. Lead selected strategic programs and major initiatives. Strengthen execution discipline across scope, schedule, cost, quality, and risk management. Further develop and operationalise the portfolio management model, including prioritisation, performance management, and supporting tools. Lead and facilitate portfolio-related decision-making in relevant governance forums. Develop portfolio analytics, KPIs, and reporting practices to support data-driven decision-making. Provide leadership with a transparent, fact-based view of the portfolio, including value, risks, dependencies, and performance. Collaborate closely with Business, Strategy and Digital teams to align portfolio, development, delivery and ways of working. What are we looking for? 10+ years of experience in project, program, and portfolio management. Proven track record of leading PMO functions and building or significantly improving portfolio management maturity. Strong leadership and change management capabilities. Experience leading complex digital transformation or technology-enabled change initiatives. Strong business and financial acumen, business case development, and benefits tracking and analytics. Outstanding stakeholder management and communication skills. Collaborative and strong at building trust across business and digital teams. Ability to operate effectively in complex, matrixed environments. Calm, decisive, and resilient under pressure. Familiarity with portfolio and PPM tools. Hands-on experience with agile, waterfall, and hybrid delivery models at scale. Continuous learner with a passion for improving ways of working. Why Join Finnair? At Finnair, You become part of One Crew working together to make every journey better — today and tomorrow. Our values — Always Safe, Customer at Heart, and Stronger Together — guide how we work, make decisions, and support each other every day. We offer meaningful work with real impact, where your contribution helps shape the future of aviation, digital services, and sustainable travel. Collaboration, trust, and respect are part of everyday work, and people are encouraged to take ownership and grow. You’ll join a community where diverse perspectives are valued, continuous learning is supported, and development happens together — not alone. Are you interested? Please submit your application with your CV, cover letter and salary expectation no later than Sunday 14 June 2026. We may start going through the applications already during the application period.
