Vacancy for a fixed-term position of a SPECIAL CLASS TEACHER at Oulu International School for the 2026-2027 school year. Oulu International School is a comprehensive primary school located near Ainola Park. There are approximately 420 students and about forty staff members. The school's target language is English, and most instruction is conducted in English. About half of the students are learning Finnish as a second language. The school's activities emphasize multiculturalism and internationality, language-aware teaching, well-being, and pedagogical methods such as project-based and inquiry-based learning, as well as criterion-referenced assessment. The school community focuses on the well-being of students and staff, supporting learning, co-teaching, literacy, and educational technology. We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic special class teacher for our international school for grades 1-4. As a special class teacher, you will be responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating support for students' learning. The work includes designing individual support measures and implementing them in collaboration with other teaching staff. Co-teaching is a key part of the role, and success requires strong collaboration skills and the ability to operate flexibly in different teaching situations. Qualifications are based on the regulations for teaching staff qualifications (Decree 986/1998). Original certificates of qualification must be presented during the interview if applicable. The position requires excellent proficiency in Finnish and English.
