Senior Java Backend Engineer – (PAM) About the Opportunity We are looking for a Senior Java Backend Engineer to help build a new-generation online gaming platform from the ground up. You’ll focus on the backend of a Player Account Management (PAM) system, developing services for player accounts, wallets, transactions, payments, bonuses, and account lifecycle management. This is a true greenfield project supporting a high-volume gaming operation, so reliability, scalability, data integrity, and strong engineering practices are essential. You’ll work closely with senior and principal engineers while taking ownership of services within your domain. Your Responsibilities Develop backend services using Java 17+ and Spring Boot. Build functionality around wallets, financial ledgers, payments, bonuses, and player accounts. Design REST APIs and event-driven integrations using technologies such as Kafka. Ensure transactional integrity through proper transaction handling, idempotency, and failure management. Maintain strong automated test coverage across unit, integration, and contract tests. Implement KYC/AML, responsible gaming, and audit-related requirements. Add monitoring, logging, tracing, metrics, and alerting to production services. Participate in on-call support and production troubleshooting. Contribute to technical designs, RFCs, and code reviews. Use AI-assisted development tools as part of your engineering workflow. Support migration from an existing third-party platform, including testing, data validation, and cutover activities. What We’re Looking For 7+ years of experience with Java 17+ and Spring Boot. Experience building transactional systems where data accuracy is critical. Background in payments, banking, wallets, e-commerce, gaming, fintech, or similar domains. Strong relational database skills, preferably PostgreSQL. Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar messaging technologies. Good understanding of idempotency, retries, transactions, and concurrency. Strong testing practices across unit, integration, and contract testing.
