In Helsinki’s home care resource pool you work in a permanent position in the home care’s own reserve staff. It is not casual work; it is a planned schedule across different home care teams. The job offers variety, diverse client contacts, and the opportunity to grow your competencies. Although the work is mobile, you belong to your own resource pool. You will have support from your supervisor, a familiar work community, and the home care team you are assigned to. What does work in the resource pool look like? In the resource pool you work in clients’ homes across Helsinki. You support their functional capacity, rehabilitation, and safe daily living as part of a multiprofessional team. Your duties include: - supporting clients’ functioning, rehabilitation, and independent coping - providing basic nursing care, medication administration, and other nursing tasks - assessing client condition and acting in changing situations - documenting in the Apotti client information system - collaborating with the multiprofessional team and clients’ relatives - moving clients to their homes by walking, cycling, driving, or public transport Why the resource pool? In all resource pools you get: - a permanent job in Helsinki home care - your own supervisor, a familiar work community, and regular staff meetings - thorough orientation and daily support - the possibility to work in different home care teams and get acquainted with various clients - a diverse role where you can develop your skills Are you seeking variety or a chance to work with clients for longer periods? We offer both options. Resource pools 1–3 suit you if you enjoy varied workdays and want to focus on client care. In resource pool teams you will have: - work where client care is central – you won’t have your own accountability clients - fewer administrative duties than in permanent home care roles - opportunities to develop your skills in various client situations - varied workdays across different home care teams Pools mainly operate in the following areas: - Pool 1: southern and partly western teams - Pool 2: central and partly western and northern teams - Pool 3: eastern, south-eastern, north-eastern, and partly northern teams - Pool 4 operates across the whole Helsinki area and focuses on longer substitutions. Longer assignments allow you to get to know clients, the work community, and the area more deeply. You can influence your working areas by discussing them with your supervisor, and your preferences will be considered where possible. What you will gain in Pool 4: - longer assignments in different home care teams - opportunity to get to know clients better and observe changes in their functional capacity - participate in planning and implementing clients’ care - the possibility to utilize and develop, for example, your RA I competencies and the expertise required of a lead caregiver What do we expect from you? You are a licensed practical nurse and enjoy moving work. You work independently in clients’ homes but also naturally as part of a multiprofessional team. Eligibility: Licensed practical nurse degree and registration in the central register of professionals maintained by the National Supervisory Authority for Welfare and Health (formerly Valvira). Proficiency in Finnish (spoken and written at least level B2.1). Before the decision, you must present a health check and drug testing certificate. The acts require TB screening under Health Care Act 55 §. You must complete LO P/LO Ve LOP licenses successfully. Licenses are completed at the start of employment and must be completed by the end of probation. A police background check regarding working with elderly persons is required under the Act on the Inspection of Social and Health Care Professionals (741/2023, §28).
