Youth guidance worker in Pori combining one-to-one support for under-30s with social media content creation.

Original job description

Creative social media talent and a professional at connecting with young people: Youth Guidance Worker If you can find a content idea in an empty bank account and a lost sense of the future—and can also help a young person with both—read on. We are looking for a Youth Guidance Worker for Ohjaamo Pori who understands social media, recognises trends and can create content that makes young people stop and pay attention. At the same time, you can meet a young person face to face or online, listen to their situation and help them find the next step forward. Create content about young people’s lives and bring Ohjaamo into it: First job. An application needs to be written. €8.47 in the account. An interview tomorrow. The future feels a little unclear. Everyone else seems to have a plan—or at least it looks that way on social media. You will make videos, stories and insights about these topics. You use humour with good judgement. Content can make people laugh, surprise them, start a discussion or resonate so well that a young person thinks: that’s so me. Idea. Phone in hand. Film. Edit. Publish. You can come up with ideas, film, write, appear on camera and try different kinds of content. Together with the rest of the team, you will help develop how Ohjaamo looks, sounds and feels on the channels young people use. The role combines expert work with young people and communications and content-production skills. You will work with people under 30 face to face and online, providing individual guidance, coaching and advice in a range of life situations. Your work includes assessing a young person’s situation and support needs and helping them with education, employment, work-readiness and other life questions. You will also be responsible for planning, delivering and developing communications, marketing and digital services. You will create content for young people, their close contacts, professionals and partners. The work includes guiding group activities, multidisciplinary networking, outreach work, and cooperation with employers and other organisations working with young people. You will also participate in planning, delivering and developing events and meet young people in different settings and environments. You may be the person we are looking for if... Social media is not just somewhere you publish content. You understand why people stop to watch some content and swipe past other content. You have an eye for trends and follow young people’s world and social media culture. You can come up with ideas, film and create content using accessible means. You are not afraid of the camera and are willing to bring your personality to your work. A sense of humour helps—and good judgement even more. At the same time, you can listen, ask questions and meet different kinds of young people. You can build trust and work with individuals and groups. You enjoy working with people and can operate in multidisciplinary teams and networks. If your strongest skills are in communications, marketing, media, content production or social media, and meeting people comes naturally to you, we want you to consider this role. We value an approach informed by an interest in young people’s world, a sense of humour, knowledge of current trends, strong client-work skills and the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team. Skills in wellbeing-services design are an advantage. What is Ohjaamo? Ohjaamo is a multidisciplinary service point run by the City of Pori for people under 30. People come to us with questions about work, education, finances, housing, wellbeing or finding direction in life. We are not just an office. We are a community, a network and a safe place to meet. At Ohjaamo, every young person is met as an individual—with listening, encouragement and a search for solutions. At the same time, we build bridges to employers, educational institutions and other organisations. We want to see what you can do Make a work sample for us. In addition to your application, make a video of no more than 60 seconds. Do not make a conventional presentation of Ohjaamo’s services. Create content about young people’s lives and bring Ohjaamo into it. Choose a situation, feeling, trend or thought related to young people’s lives. You can use humour, a story, a trend, an insight or something entirely your own. We want the video to demonstrate your editing and presentation skills, and the finished video could be used as it is on Ohjaamo’s social media. A phone is enough. We are not looking for the most expensive camera, the most perfect editing or the glossiest production. Upload the video to a cloud service such as Google Drive or OneDrive and add a working link to your application. We are looking for a good idea and the ability to make it interesting. Content that leaves us with just one thought: I want to see more. Reach. Meet. Inspire. Help people move forward. Ohjaamo does not just help people find solutions. We create them together. The work starts as soon as possible. The role-specific salary is €2,795.35 per month. Working time is 38.25 hours per week. The education requirement is a relevant lower university degree, an equivalent earlier institute-level qualification, or a vocational upper-secondary qualification. Apply to help build a Pori where no young person has to look for the next step alone. Interviews will begin during the application period, and we may make our selection as soon as we find a suitable person. Complete the application using the Apply for the job section. Attach your qualification certificate to the online application. Work certificates or a CV prepared separately are not required. Alternatively, you may present the original qualification certificates at a possible interview. If you cannot apply online, you may send a paper application and CV to: City of Pori, HR Unit, PL 47 (Valtakatu 15), 28100 Pori. For help with the online application: 044 701 9989 and 044 701 4680, or rekry@pori.fi. Before starting employment, the selected candidate must provide a criminal record extract under the law on checking the criminal background of people working with children. The position has a six-month probationary period.
