As a Personal Assistant, you help our clients live a full life on their own terms. Onni’s clients are people who need help with everyday tasks because of an illness or disability. You assist with tasks at home and activities outside the home. Client situations and support needs vary, and duties are always determined by the client’s condition and individual need for assistance. The work is varied and, if you wish, may include several clients and assignments during the same day. A driving licence and the possibility of using your own car are prerequisites for the work. You do not need education in the field or previous experience. What matters is the right attitude towards assistance work, willingness to learn new things and the ability to work in a client-oriented way in different situations. All our new assistants receive comprehensive onboarding at Onni’s own Avustaja Akatemia before starting work. Onboarding continues as needed during your employment. Your team supervisor will provide ongoing guidance and support, so you will not be left alone with questions or possible work-related challenges. The work is mainly done in two shifts on weekdays and weekends. Shifts last from two hours upwards, and a workday may consist of one or more client assignments. You can influence your shifts and work on a casual, shift-by-shift basis in the way that best suits your life situation. We take both our clients’ need for assistance and our assistants’ work preferences into account and match them as well as possible. If needed, the first shift with a client serves as an orientation shift. Afterwards, both the assistant and client can assess how well the cooperation works and whether they are a good personal fit. If something concerns you later or does not go as planned, we will discuss it together and find a suitable solution for you. If you wish, you can work with several Onni clients when the schedules can be coordinated.
