About the role

Katsa plans and manufactures power transmission components. Katsa serves gear customers as a supplier of customized specialty gears. For transmission users, Katsa offers modeling, modernization, maintenance, and spare parts. The company manufactures a variety of gear parts for both single and series production. We are seeking a Production Supervisor for the Tampere Ilmailunkatu unit. In this role you will be responsible for the smooth daily operation of the grinding hall and for executing production plans, ensuring quality, promoting safety, and supporting and leading personnel. You will also onboard new employees and handle supervisory tasks such as shift planning, timekeeping, and vacation arrangements. The days are varied and fast-paced, and production may change quickly, requiring the ability to respond to changing situations and make everyday decisions. You will work with experienced colleagues and long-time professionals who will help you grow in your role. Katsa is in a strong development phase with growth in production and adoption of new operating models and systems. You will have the opportunity to influence production development and future operating methods. The job is day-shift with flexible working hours. The workplace is in Härmä at Ilmailunkatu 23, 33900 Tampere. What we are looking for: a technical background through education or work experience, e.g., mechanical engineering, or hands-on experience in metal industry. The most important is understanding of the production environment and willingness to take responsibility for people and development of operations. Previous supervisory experience is beneficial, but not required to be a full-blown specialist. This role is suitable for someone with strong technical skills and a genuine interest in moving into supervisory duties. We value the ability to lead diverse people, make decisions in changing situations, and foster a collaborative culture. Success in the role is supported by understanding technical drawings and tolerances and readiness to communicate in English with international suppliers and partners when necessary. Finnish is the working language, so strong Finnish language skills are required for leading and orienting staff and handling safety matters. You are pragmatic, calm, and solution-focused, take initiative, cope with pressure, and want to develop operations together with staff over the long term. We offer a permanent contract, a salary based on experience and expertise, comprehensive onboarding and support from experienced colleagues, and a mentoring arrangement to help you settle in. The job provides opportunities to influence your area and grow as a supervisor in an international company that is expanding. Working time is 37.5 hours per week with flexible hours. Benefits include the Epassi sports and culture benefit, meal benefit, and broad occupational health care. Katsa is a stable, respected employer and part of the Twin Disc group. Long careers and low staff turnover reflect a workplace where people enjoy their work.
