Practical Nurse

We are hiring a practical nurse for a fixed-term position in 24-hour residential family rehabilitation. The position is part-time, at 40% of full working hours. Family rehabilitation strengthens interaction between parents and children and supports parents’ skills in everyday family life. Together with parents and children, we seek workable solutions to everyday and child-wellbeing issues where the child welfare client plan has identified a need for support. We provide individual and group rehabilitation using evidence-based methods. Clients enter family rehabilitation on the basis of a guidance document from their responsible social worker. Round-the-clock family rehabilitation is planned and time-limited. The children are child-welfare clients, and rehabilitation is planned together with the family, responsible social worker and team. The unit has facilities for seven families. Children range in age from newborn babies to adolescents. Rehabilitation periods last two to three months. Your supervisor is a senior instructor. The team also includes instructors, a registered nurse, an occupational therapist, a home-care instructor, a psychologist and a family therapist. The team has shared work supervision and expert guidance in evidence-based methods. As a practical nurse, you monitor and ensure the safety of clients in 24-hour family rehabilitation, mainly at night. We offer interesting and responsible work. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team, but the role does not include serving as a personal instructor. We will begin interviews during the application period. Registration in the professional register maintained by the Finnish Supervisory Agency is required. Good spoken and satisfactory written Finnish are required. The selected candidate must provide the employer with a drug-test certificate before the employment begins. Before the selection decision, applicants must provide an occupational health assessment of their ability to perform the duties. Vaccination protection under section 48 of the Communicable Diseases Act is required. The LOP/LOVe LOP medication permit must be passed no later than during the probationary period. A criminal record extract is required under the Act on Checking the Criminal Background of Persons Working with Children (504/2002).
