Become a foster parent with Validia Family Care in Kouvola. Have you ever considered foster parenting? Could your home be a stable and caring place for a child who needs one? If the thought has stayed with you, this may be a good time to consider it. We are looking for foster parents for Validia Family Care in Kouvola. As a foster parent, a child becomes part of your family and shares ordinary everyday life with you. You are genuinely present for the child through everyday joys and sorrows, including challenging moments. Everyday life can be meaningful as well as demanding, and calls for commitment over time, flexibility and the ability to meet the child where they are. The role is based on an assignment agreement that sets out the care fee and expense reimbursement. PRIDE preparatory training or equivalent process training is required. If you have not completed the training, Validia Family Care will provide it before you begin. We support your everyday life in many ways after training and stay alongside you throughout the journey. You will receive guidance for everyday situations, and our work also takes the other members of your family into account. Support includes mentoring, work supervision, further training and activity days for the whole family. Help at home is available when needed, and as a foster parent you are entitled to leave under the Finnish Family Care Act. We hope you have a stable life situation and sufficient resources to commit to a child's everyday life. We value readiness to work with the child's close relations and different professionals, as well as a willingness to learn. Relevant education or experience is an advantage, but is not a requirement for the role. A driving licence is required, and a criminal record extract for working with children will be checked. We offer comprehensive support from family-care professionals throughout the process, as well as training for the role. You can focus on what matters and build everyday life where a child has room to grow and form secure attachments. This is an opportunity to do something genuinely meaningful in another person's life. Read more about foster parenting at Validia. Our website has more information about family care, training and what foster parenting means in practice. We encourage you to explore the material at your own pace and get in touch without pressure. You can take things at your own pace and ask questions at any stage. Interested? If you have been thinking about this for some time, this may be the right moment to take the next step. We would be happy to talk about your situation and thoughts without any commitment. Getting in touch can be the first step towards a new and meaningful everyday life. Get in touch!
