Koja Group is a growing Finnish family-owned company with more than 90 years of history. It provides air-handling solutions for buildings and ships, as well as fan solutions for industry. The company produces innovative technology solutions efficiently and safely, aiming to help customers achieve their own energy and environmental goals. In addition to the parent company Koja-Yhtiöt Oy, the group includes Koja Oy and Chiller Oy, their subsidiaries and operations in Finland, Sweden, Germany and the USA. The group employs more than 500 people. Learn more at www.koja.fi. We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer for our client Koja Oy for a permanent position. What would you do with us? In this role, you will combine mechanical design, product development and project leadership in Koja’s international marine business. You will be responsible for the mechanical solutions for cruise-ship ventilation products throughout their lifecycle. You will advance product development initiatives in line with Koja’s roadmap and lead your own development projects. You will design products and components and create 3D models and manufacturing drawings. You will also take part in larger projects and work with the rest of the team to put new solutions into practice. In addition, you will help advance automation supporting mechanical design and use language-model-based tools in your work. You will work closely with production, the digitalisation team and other product development specialists. Your immediate team has around ten professionals, and you will also have the support of Koja’s wider technology development organisation and its research laboratories. Your workplace is on Lentokentänkatu in Tampere. The role includes regular visits to the Jalasjärvi production site about two or three times a month, so having your own car is practically necessary. You will have a flexible hybrid work model and flexible working hours. Your employment relationship will be directly with Koja. What kind of person are we looking for? To succeed in the role, you have a suitable technical higher-education qualification, such as a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering or a Master of Science in Engineering. You also have experience in mechanical design, 3D modelling and preparing manufacturing drawings. You will use the Vertex G4 design software and the Vertex Flow product data management system. Previous experience with comparable CAD and PDM systems gives you a good foundation for the role. We value experience with product development projects and leading your own development projects. Familiarity with the marine environment is an advantage. Experience with system integrations or design automation is also a plus. We also appreciate an interest in using language-model-based tools in design work. You work fluently in Finnish and can also work in English. You are a proactive and thorough designer who understands technical systems as a whole, actively shares your views and moves things forward purposefully. What do we offer? We offer varied and meaningful work in a financially stable and growing Finnish company at the heart of the green transition, producing innovative technology solutions for its customers. Koja invests heavily in domestic production and develops its operations for the long term. This is reflected in forward-looking investments and clear ways of working in employees’ daily lives. Koja is a responsible family business where you will receive support and become part of a caring work community, with good opportunities for professional growth. You will receive a thorough induction, and the work community will support you from the outset. Pay is based on your skills and experience. Our comprehensive employee benefits include extensive occupational healthcare and an Epassi recreation benefit. Koja is a smoke-free workplace. Employees joining the company are subject to a drug test before employment begins. Certain projects may also require security clearances under the Security Clearance Act (726/2014). Interested? If this role feels like the right next step for you, we would very much like to hear from you. Apply by 1 November 2026. The recruitment process is conducted in cooperation with Biisoni.
