Itä-Uusimaa Wellbeing Services County is seeking a SOCIAL WORKER for a temporary public-service position from 26 October to 31 December 2026, or with a start date agreed separately. The work is part-time (70%). At the start, the position will be based in adult social work supporting integration. In integration-supporting social work, your duties include the social worker’s tasks under the Social Welfare Act process, service-needs assessments and decision-making. Clients include people living in Itä-Uusimaa who receive international protection, victims of human trafficking, children who arrived in Finland as unaccompanied minors, and people who moved to Finland because of family ties, work or study. We also arrange essential social welfare services for undocumented people. The work includes demanding client service and clarifying and guiding clients through their life situations, independently and in multidisciplinary networks. The current team consists of a lead social worker, one social worker, two social counsellors and an office secretary. We offer interesting duties in a skilled and development-oriented work community. You will receive induction for your work and support from the team and your supervisor. Occupational health services are provided through Mehiläinen. Your workplace will be in Porvoo. We offer flexible working hours, and remote work can be agreed for one or two days per week. The eligibility requirement is qualification as a social worker under section 7 of Act 817/2015 on social welfare professionals and registration in the register of social and healthcare professionals (JulkiSuosikki). The language requirement is good spoken and written Finnish and satisfactory spoken Swedish. English skills are considered an advantage. The role requires good cooperation and interaction skills and flexibility. Experience in integration-related social work and using social-sector client information systems is considered an advantage. If there are no applicants who meet the eligibility requirements, the position may be filled temporarily for up to one year by a person studying for the social worker profession who has successfully completed the basic and intermediate social work studies and the related practical training. The terms of employment are determined by the collective agreement for social and healthcare personnel (SOTE). The task-specific salary for a full-time social worker is €4,316.77 per month plus possible supplements. The position is part-time (70%). The appointment is conditional until the selected candidate has provided, within one month of starting work, an occupational health assessment of their ability to perform the duties. The position requires the vaccination protection specified in section 48 of the Communicable Diseases Act and the tuberculosis screening specified in section 55.
