Social Services Professional (UAS), Project Worker

Etelä-Pohjanmaa Wellbeing Services County is seeking two Bachelor of Social Services professionals for full-time employment in the INTENSIIVI project. This is a fixed-term position for the duration of the project, starting on 1 November 2026 (or by agreement) and ending on 31 May 2028. What is the INTENSIIVI project about? The INTENSIIVI project is developing a multidisciplinary operating model for the Etelä-Pohjanmaa Wellbeing Services County for young people and young adults aged 15–29 who have serious or recurring offending behaviour and simultaneous, diverse support needs. The aim is to prevent and interrupt cycles of crime, strengthen young people’s engagement with the services they need, and build more coordinated, timely and continuous service pathways. The project is based in adult social work. The operating model is being developed in close cooperation with, among others, family services, child welfare, mental health and substance abuse services, the police, the Criminal Sanctions Agency, the Anchor activities and third-sector organisations. What does the project worker’s role involve? As a project worker, you will help build the INTENSIIVI project and directly influence how the new operating model takes shape in practice. The role combines practical client work in social services, multidisciplinary network work, and the development and implementation of a new way of working. The social services professional’s duties include: · Providing individual support, engagement and service guidance to young people and young adults displaying offending behaviour. · Carrying out multidisciplinary client work together with network partners. · Practical testing, development and documentation of the new INTENSIIVI operating model as part of the project team. · Close cooperation and network work with different partners. You will work in a close-knit team with another project worker, the project lead and a broad multidisciplinary network. What do we expect from you? The selected candidate must have a Bachelor of Social Services (UAS) degree (Act on Social Welfare Professionals 817/2015) and be licensed to practise as a social services professional in Finland. As the project also involves minors, the selected candidate must present a criminal record extract referred to in section 6(2) of the Criminal Records Act. We are looking for someone with: · Genuine interest in working with young people and young adults displaying offending behaviour. · Excellent cooperation and interaction skills for working in a multidisciplinary network. · A positive attitude and an active, proactive approach, with the ability and courage to take matters forward independently and together with the team. As a particular asset and area of expertise, we value: · Previous work experience and strong knowledge of this client group, or experience working with young people in challenging life situations. · Special expertise in working with clients displaying offending behaviour, facing substance use or mental health challenges, or otherwise needing multidisciplinary support. Above all, we are looking for people who want and are motivated to help build an effective INTENSIIVI model for Etelä-Pohjanmaa. In this role, you can strengthen the engagement of young people in difficult life situations with services and support their path towards a life without crime. Terms of employment and pay are determined under the applicable SOTE collective agreement. The level-based or task-specific salary at the start of employment is €3,565 per month. A probationary period applies. The role requires vaccination protection under section 48 of the Communicable Diseases Act. HYVAEP is a nicotine-free workplace.
