Lead Nurse

Come work as a lead nurse at Sospro’s new child welfare residential unit in Ulvila! The opening unit, Kersantti, is a specialized child welfare residential unit providing round-the-clock care for seven children aged 11–17. Kersantti particularly meets the needs of children with neuropsychiatric symptoms. The new unit is part of Ravanikoti, which already has three other child welfare residential units. The grounds also include a school maintained by Ulvila’s education services, where the children in the residential unit receive teaching. Nursing duties: - Assess the child’s health and monitor its development and changes. - Act as a healthcare contact person. - Plan, implement and supervise medication treatment. - Support the team and designated instructors, bringing nursing expertise and perspective to work with the child and family. In addition to the lead nurse’s duties, the work includes instructor duties. As an instructor, you take part in the comprehensive, planned and goal-oriented care and upbringing of the child in care, together with the residential unit’s manager and other staff. The child’s care and upbringing plan guides your work. You act as the child’s designated instructor and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the child and their health. The selected candidate must have a university of applied sciences nursing degree, a category B driving licence and a social and healthcare professional card. The job is full-time, permanent and involves two-shift work. It starts in early January 2027. The employment contract follows the private social services collective agreement and has a six-month probationary period. The selected candidate must provide the criminal record extract required by the Act on Checking the Criminal Background of Persons Working with Children (505/2002).
