Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Take ownership of your area and bring demanding machines and equipment into series production. Are you an experienced mechanical design engineer who is tired of designing according to someone else’s decisions? We are looking for a senior-level designer in Tampere for demanding product design assignments. Our customers are Finnish and international manufacturers whose machines and equipment do real work in real conditions. The work includes both the development of series products and demanding special projects. In this senior role, you own your area: you decide how the solution is designed and take responsibility for making sure it works. You also mentor colleagues and lead smaller projects when needed. What you do day to day - Design steel structures, industrial equipment, hydraulic systems and, for example, complete mobile machinery for demanding conditions. - Work closely with the analysis team: you can read FEA results and apply them in practice. - Manage complex assemblies using PDM and take a lifecycle perspective. - Develop design methods and ensure quality, safety and productivity. - Identify project risks early and mentor colleagues. The primary tools are NX and Catia. Experience with Creo and SolidWorks is an advantage, and you can learn a new tool quickly if you have a good grasp of design fundamentals. You are a good candidate if - You have a master’s or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and several years of practical experience. - You are familiar with welded structures, hydraulics and dynamic loads from your projects. - You take ownership: a design is complete only when it works. - You can explain a technical solution to a customer clearly, without engineering jargon. - You communicate in both Finnish and English. Experience with off-highway or mobile machinery, casting or other specialist expertise is a clear advantage. If you do not meet every point but recognise yourself in the description, apply anyway.
