Come work in Sallatunturi for the winter! Experience a colorful Lapland winter in the middle of nowhere! We are looking for staff for customer service and slopes for the 2026-2027 winter season. Positions are available for ski instruction. In addition to teaching, you will assist with daily opening procedures and work as needed in the rental shop. Maintenance of special activity areas and managing the activity zone are part of the job. Sallatunturi Ski Resort is seeking motivated and energetic individuals for the winter season. You will have the opportunity to work amidst the beautiful and quiet fell landscape. Our resort is known for its uncrowded slopes, excellent customer service, and well-maintained pistes. Our resort is a medium-sized ski area in Finland, with 15 slopes and 7 lifts, of which 4 reach the summit. Here, customers and staff are not lost in the crowd; you are an important part of a small team with the shared goal: Finland’s best ski resort. Our resort was named the Ski Resort of the Year in 2009 & 2021. What will you do at Sallatunturi? - Teach customers in the ski school & organize various ski school competitions - Serve customers as needed in the rental shop and information point - Assist in planning, organizing, and executing events - Ensure customers have a good experience from start to finish on the slopes - Maintain and care for areas used for instruction (activity zone, children’s slopes, special performance areas) - Perform various outdoor and indoor tasks during morning, day, and evening shifts, including weekends and peak seasons (Christmas, winter holidays, and Easter) Available employment types Work begins with the snowfall, around late November / early December, and continues until about mid-April. Start, end, and working hours are flexible according to your preferences. Several positions are available, but in limited numbers. Mature job seekers are also very welcome to work in Sallatunturi! This is a great opportunity to spend the winter in a peaceful fell environment. We hope applicants will have: - A cheerful, proactive attitude towards customer service and work - Ability to be part of a close-knit team - Interest in winter sports and equipment (skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, etc.) - Basic knowledge of English Additional appreciated skills include, for example: - Existing experience in ski resort operations (rental work, customer service, ski instruction, Ski Patrol, snowmaking, cash register use) - Other language skills (e.g., Swedish, Dutch, German, Spanish) - Driving license B - Willingness to try living in Lapland during winter - Own accommodation in Sallatunturi - Skills with cash registers and computers - Experience with snowmobiles None of these are mandatory; attitude and willingness are sufficient. Everything else can be learned. Salary: Salary is based on the ski resort sector’s collective agreement. Depending on the tasks, starting salary is 12.01–13.07 €/h (from 1.9.2026). Previous experience in the sector is recognized as experience-based pay increases, so more experienced staff will earn higher wages. All evening, night, Sunday, and holiday work supplements are paid according to the collective agreement. Salary is paid twice a month. Work shifts: We offer both full-time and seasonal employment. Shifts are scheduled according to the ski resort’s opening hours, including morning, day, and evening shifts, as well as weekends and peak seasons. Shifts are planned in three-week cycles and announced at least one week in advance. Working hours can be adjusted according to the applicant’s wishes and the resort’s needs. Please note before applying: - We do not provide accommodation, but we are happy to help find suitable housing. Rental prices in Sallatunturi are very reasonable compared to other Lapland tourist destinations. - There is no grocery store in the Sallatunturi area; the nearest is in the town (10 km). Planning your transportation in advance is recommended.
