We are looking for a mechanical maintenance fitter for bogie maintenance for our customer in Helsinki’s Ilmala, for a full-time position. Our customer is a specialist in rolling-stock maintenance and lifecycle management, providing maintenance and modernisation services and solutions related to rolling-stock manufacturing for international markets. The company’s professionals support safe and reliable passenger and freight transport through their work. Its operations combine strong technical expertise, evolving solutions and continuous development together with customers. Your working day You will take part in mechanical servicing and maintenance of rail-traffic rolling-stock bogies. Your duties include dismantling and assembling parts and assemblies, cleaning parts, removing rust and painting. The work offers varied tasks for a fitter who already has experience in mechanical servicing and repair. You will work mainly indoors with a partner. The parts being serviced are heavy, but cranes and other aids are used to handle them. The work is largely performed standing, so the role requires normal physical fitness and a careful, safe approach. The work is done in two shifts. The morning shift is provisionally approximately 6:00–14:10 and the evening shift approximately 14:00–22:00. We hope you are available for both shifts and, where possible, occasional weekend overtime. What we value - Suitable training, for example in mechanical fitting, maintenance, the vehicle industry or aircraft fitting - Previous experience in mechanical installation, servicing or repair, for example in heavy-vehicle maintenance - Practical problem-solving skills and a careful, responsible approach to work - Teamwork skills and the ability to work with a partner - Availability for two-shift work - A valid hot work card and first-aid training What we offer We offer varied work in rolling-stock maintenance and the opportunity to develop your mechanical skills. Pay is approximately €16–18 per hour and depends on your skills and experience. You will receive comprehensive induction. During the first days, you will learn the customer’s practices, safety instructions and how to move around the work environment, and complete the necessary training. A designated work instructor will support you in practical work, and you will progress through the tasks step by step.
