Do you have strong expertise in matters related to artificial intelligence and data protection? Would you like to help build an AI governance model at Finland’s largest commercial media company? If your answer is YES, keep reading, because this could be the role for you! We are now looking for a new legal professional to join Sanoma Media Finland’s four-person legal team. The position is full-time and permanent, starting in January 2027. Sanoma Media Finland’s office is in Sanomatalo in central Helsinki (Töölönlahdenkatu 2), but you can also work partly remotely. Sanoma Media Finland is Finland’s largest commercial media company and the country’s most multichannel media group. It operates in three business areas: journalism, entertainment and B2B, and reaches almost all Finns every day through newspapers and magazines, television, radio, online and mobile channels. In this role, you will be responsible for developing Sanoma Media Finland’s internal AI governance model. This is a new role. You will assess AI use cases within the organisation and create shared principles for using AI. In addition to developing the governance model, you will advise the business on the use of AI and on applying legislation relating to AI, data protection and data. You will work closely with Sanoma Media’s business teams, the rest of the legal team and Sanoma’s Compliance function. You may be the person we are looking for if: - You have a Master of Laws degree and a few years of relevant post-graduation experience from a law firm and/or in an in-house legal role. - You have relevant experience advancing projects related to AI and data protection. General expertise in data regulation and contract law is an advantage. - You are solution-oriented and practical, take initiative and approach matters pragmatically. - You have strong project management and coordination skills and move matters forward efficiently. - You have excellent interpersonal skills and communicate fluently, both orally and in writing, in Finnish and English.
