Join Hyria! We encourage enthusiasm and success. We are seeking a Finnish language teacher for vocational education in Riihimäki for a fixed-term position from August 3, 2026, to December 31, 2026. The role includes teaching Finnish to foreign-language students in vocational training, guiding work-based learning, and developing the training programs. As a teacher, you will work with students from various vocational fields. You will teach and guide future professionals on campus, online, and in other learning environments. You will support learners towards employment and further studies. You will have the opportunity to utilize your professional skills and to plan and develop training to better meet the needs of working life and learners. In addition to teaching Finnish, your responsibilities include personalizing studies to meet individual needs. You will monitor students' progress, guide work-based learning, assess skills, and collaborate with employers. You will use diverse teaching methods and environments, incorporating digital tools and technology to enhance learning. Your work will also involve multidisciplinary cooperation to support studies and well-being. The position is primarily day work, based mainly in Riihimäki. You are the right candidate if you hold a higher university degree, have completed at least Finnish language major studies, possess pedagogical qualifications, and have experience teaching Finnish to immigrants. Experience in teaching and guidance, as well as good connections to working life, are considered assets. Knowledge of online teaching and flexible study solutions is also desirable. Qualifications for the position are based on regulation (A14.12.1998/986): a suitable higher education degree, pedagogical studies, and at least three years of practical experience in the field. If qualified candidates are not available, the position may be filled temporarily by a candidate who does not meet all the requirements. Employment terms and salary are determined according to the collective agreement for vocational adult education staff. The salary for qualified teachers is between €3,041.75 and €3,848.30 per month. Final salary depends on education level, work experience, and other skills. Before starting work, the selected candidate must provide a valid health certificate and a criminal record extract related to working with children, as required by law (Law 504/2002). The position includes a probation period. Besides the primary work location, work may also be performed within the Hyria consortium's operational area with its workplaces.
