The Department of Education of the City of Kurikka is hiring until June 7, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. A violin teacher position starting from August 1, 2026. The initial placement is at Kurikka Music Institute. Teaching primarily focuses on the Jalasjärvi teaching point. Kurikka Music Institute, which started operations on August 1, 2024, is a new music institute. The City of Kurikka received a license to organize teaching according to the comprehensive curriculum of Arts Basic Education on October 27, 2023 (VN/15103/2023-OKM-5). Approximately 370 students study at three main teaching points: Jalasjärvi, Jurva, and Kurikka areas. The staff includes about 25 teachers, a principal, and an office secretary. The duties include teaching violin and viola, as well as coaching lessons and teaching ensemble and orchestra playing. The teacher is expected to have excellent cooperation and interaction skills and enthusiasm for developing their subject. Knowledge of improvisation, composition, and music technology pedagogies according to the new curriculum is considered an advantage. A driving license and use of a personal car are also required. Interviews will be held on June 9, 2026. Qualifications are in accordance with regulation (986/1998), and employment terms follow the OVTES agreement.
