The Kanta-Häme Wellbeing Services County is seeking a permanent doctor to establish a new daytime urgent care service in Hämeenlinna. The service started on March 30, 2026, at the Viipurintie Health Center with two doctors, and we are now recruiting a second doctor to develop the operation from the beginning. The role combines diverse clinical work with the opportunity to influence how the urgent care functions daily. The work includes scheduled urgent care appointments. A practical nurse assists with procedures and sample collection. On-site facilities include point-of-care testing, a laboratory, and extensive consultation options. X-ray services are available at the new Assi Hospital. At the clinic, patients requiring quick assessment and treatment are seen, offering varied situations and the chance to utilize broad general medical skills. You will also participate in developing the new operational model with other staff. The work does not include monitoring patients or handling ambulance arrivals. Patients can be referred for further examinations to the joint emergency department if needed. The patient information system used is LifeCare. The new urgent care service offers diverse clinical situations, the opportunity to utilize extensive general medical expertise, and to influence how the service is built and developed based on practical experience. Daytime urgent care introduces an emergency service rhythm to health center work but is performed during office hours without evening or night shifts at the Viipurintie Health Center. The working hours are 38 hours and 15 minutes per week with flexible scheduling. Qualifications include a licensed medical degree in Finland. Interest in urgent care work, development-mindedness, and a desire to build effective services with the team are valued. Salary is based on the career ladder system, ranging from €7,490 to €8,360 per month depending on experience and educational background (LL/EL). Additional experience-based pay may be 3% or 8%. Service time also affects holiday accrual. Applications must be received by the deadline via the Kuntarekry system. Salary and other employment terms are according to the HYVTES or SOTE agreement. The probation period is six months. In direct patient and customer work, vaccination against infectious diseases as per the Communicable Diseases Act sections 48 and 55 is required. The selected candidate must present a satisfactory health certificate upon appointment.
