Are you the person we are looking for to join our future preschool group on Lahti's language island? Preschool education is integrated with primary school in our organization, and you will collaborate with other educators. The preschool and lower primary classes have approximately 110 students together, and currently about 20 students are in the middle school. The lower primary is located at Svenska gården in the Anttilanmäki residential area. It is within walking distance to the train, enabling commuting from the capital region. Svenska gården also hosts Folkhälsan's daycare and after-school activities. The middle school is situated at Paavola campus in Tiirismaa's Finnish-speaking school. Our school functions as a local school for Swedish-speaking students in the Lahti region. As a preschool teacher, you will teach 23 hours per week, of which 20 hours are in the preschool group. The remaining three hours involve teaching a subject to the lower primary classes. The work includes co-planning time and FBA days, similar to class teachers. You will work together with the school guidance counselor in the preschool group. Our focus is on the child, and we work to promote their well-being and school success. We aim to highlight children's strengths and enhance their social skills. We look forward to a colleague who wants to develop and grow. You are positive, responsible, flexible, and open-minded. You have good teamwork skills but can also work independently. Leading groups of children with clarity and warmth is your strength. You speak and write Swedish at native level, but Finnish language skills are also important as we work in a Finnish-speaking city. You are language-conscious in your work approach. Singing, music, rhymes, and chants are natural parts of the work. Lahti Swedish School offers a diverse work environment in a pleasant setting. The learning environment also includes our local surroundings. The curriculum for preschool education is a guiding document you need to be well familiar with. You are responsible for the pedagogical activities, evaluation, and development of the group and the subjects you teach. Collegial cooperation is important to us. As a teacher at our school, we strive for consensus and share responsibilities from grades F-9 as much as possible. The qualification requirement is a "class teacher degree" in accordance with the regulation on qualification requirements for education personnel 986/1998. Language skills are also important. Please attach your diploma and other certificates demonstrating your qualification. If no qualified applicants apply, unqualified candidates will also be considered. The hired person must present a criminal record extract according to the law on background checks for persons working with children (504/2002).
