The position of EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION TEACHER is a fixed-term role at Ylikiiminki Daycare Center from July 1, 2026, to June 4, 2028. The role initially involves working with a group of 2-4-year-olds. Ylikiiminki Daycare Center was built in 2019 alongside the school as an extended opening hours daycare. Morning and evening care are provided as needed based on care reservations, Monday to Friday from 05:00 to 22:00. The daycare has four groups. Children are aged 0-6 years. The center includes a preschool group. Collaboration between preschool and primary education is natural and close: we share the same premises, making daily interactions natural, and we regularly implement joint teaching with primary education. The goal is to support the individual learning of children during the transition from preschool to primary education. Right next to the school is the world of the little ones. The qualification requirement for an early childhood education teacher is based on the Early Childhood Education Act (540/2018, section 26), considering the transitional provisions for personnel under section 75. A bachelor's degree in education must include professional studies in early childhood education or at least 60 ECTS credits in social and health care studies related to early childhood education and social pedagogy. Experience as a sibling group teacher, knowledge of pedagogy for children under three, and outdoor pedagogy are considered an advantage. The salary for the early childhood education teacher position is based on the job-specific pay system and levels of competence and responsibility, ranging from €2,864.37 to €2,975.07. The actual salary consists of a task-specific pay and possible other levels according to the OVTES agreement. Before starting the position, the selected candidate must present a criminal record extract issued according to the Act on Background Checks for Persons Working with Children (504/2002). According to the Infectious Diseases Act (55 §), the employer is responsible for requesting a reliable statement that the employee or intern does not have active tuberculosis before starting work.
