We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic guide (tours and northern lights) to join our team in Lapland. If you are passionate about the Arctic region, have excellent communication skills, and want to create unforgettable experiences by sharing knowledge about the local nature, culture, and traditions, this position is for you. Workplace and Conditions - Location: Levi Travel Center (guiding also in Rovaniemi), Lapland (Scandinavian Travel Group office) - Office language: English - Customer languages: English (Spanish, French, German, and Dutch skills are a plus) - Working hours: Full-time, flexible winter working hours (by agreement) - Contract period: 5-month fixed-term employment from 1.11.2026 to 31.3.2027 Your Responsibilities - Guiding motorless tours, daily activities, and evening northern lights programs. - Safely transporting customers in 4x4 vehicles to private wilderness destinations. - Hosting small groups at partner reindeer farms and husky kennels, ensuring all animal welfare guidelines are followed. - Guiding larger groups (up to one large bus) in selected activities in Levi and Rovaniemi, with most activities focusing on small groups. - Guiding evening programs at PolarMan’s Camp and leading basic winter survival courses at Snow Igloo Park. - Other tasks related to tours and Arctic outdoor activities. Ideal Candidate Profile: - Experienced guide in Lapland with strong knowledge of local nature, culture, and traditions. - Excellent communicator with strong discussion skills for sharing accurate information. - Proficient in English (spoken and written); knowledge of other languages is a plus. - Highly disciplined, responsible, and prepared to work outdoors in demanding Arctic weather conditions. - Holder of a B-driver’s license with experience driving 4x4 vehicles in Arctic winter conditions. Required Experience: - Previous guiding experience in Lapland. 1. SALARY AND BENEFITS Type of contract and basis: This is a fixed-term employment. The fixed-term nature is legally justified by the highly seasonal nature of Lapland’s winter tourism industry. Base salary and included working hours - Contract type: Fixed monthly salary. - Monthly base salary: To be discussed during the interview. - Included working hours: The base salary covers an average of 37.54 hours per week (approximately 160 hours per month). Additional pay (paid on top of base salary): - Sunday and holiday work: According to Finnish labor law, all hours worked on Sundays or official public holidays are paid at 100% premium (double pay). - Evening and night work: Paid according to the current Service Industry Collective Agreement (TES) for program services, on an hourly basis. Overtime and working time balancing period: Due to seasonal fluctuations, we apply the Finnish Working Hours Act and the Service Industry TES to a working time balancing period. Your working hours will be balanced over the entire 5-month contract period rather than weekly, allowing flexibility: more hours during peak winter weeks and fewer during quieter times. Seasonal performance bonus: After the winter season ends and based on company results, a seasonal bonus will be paid based on total activity sales (details provided upon signing the employment contract). 2. ANNUAL LEAVE AND SICK PAY - Accumulation of annual leave: 2 days/month in the first year - Sick pay: Full salary during the applicable period according to the Travel Agency TES. 3. WHAT WE OFFER - Accommodation: Private room in Levi area can be arranged. Rent is offered at a competitive rate and managed through a separate sublease agreement tied to full calendar months. - Training: Company-paid refresher course in First Aid 1 (EA1) before the winter season. - Transport: Free use of company vehicles for commuting between accommodation and Levi office, subject to schedule and vehicle availability. - Connections: Work phone and Finnish SIM card (unlimited domestic calls, messages, and internet). - Work attire: Guide equipment: winter outdoor jacket (resistant to -30°C), T-shirt, fleece, hat, pants, and boots. - Insurance (paid by the company): - Statutory accident insurance during working hours - Additional leisure accident insurance - Additional health insurance (details discussed upon signing the contract) 4. ADDITIONAL BENEFITS - Ski pass: Access to a shared season pass for Levi slopes. Personal season passes can be arranged at a special price. - Fitness: Personal membership to a local gym in Levi can be arranged. - Lifestyle: Employee discounts at selected restaurants and shops in Levi (515% Levi Pass). - Flexibility: Flexible working hours outside peak season. 5. CONTRACT DURATION AND EARLY TERMINATION - This offer concerns a fixed-term employment from 1.11.2026 to 31.3.2027. - Probation period: During the probation period (up to 8 weeks), either party can terminate the employment immediately without reason, not on discriminatory grounds. - Early termination of contract: After the probation period, the contract is binding until 31.3.2027.
