ReOrbit is looking for a Head of Propulsion to join our team in Helsinki. In this role, you will lead the propulsion domain across our satellite programs, driving the architecture, performance, and delivery of electric propulsion systems for long-duration missions. You will combine deep technical expertise with leadership responsibility, ensuring robust system design, successful mission execution, and strong team development. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring both system-level ownership and the ability to guide complex engineering decisions across multidisciplinary teams. Responsibilities include driving and growing a team of propulsion engineers responsible for electric propulsion architecture, defining and maintaining robust propulsion architectures, leading system-level trade-offs, ensuring propulsion requirements are integrated into system budgets, providing technical leadership, recruiting and mentoring a high-performing team, and supporting propulsion operations and anomaly resolution. Skills and requirements include responsibility for electric propulsion systems on at least two spacecraft, understanding of propulsion system performance, hands-on experience with electric propulsion technologies, direct experience with PPUs, feed systems, and control logic, proven experience with propulsion testing and integration, ability to investigate and resolve anomalies, 10+ years in satellite propulsion or spacecraft engineering, 5+ years leading engineering teams, strong system-level understanding, hands-on spacecraft testing experience, production-oriented mindset, and fluency in English.
