We are currently seeking a broad-scope special education teacher for a fixed-term position from 10.8.2026 to 31.7.2027. Come and help us develop our operational culture in light of the support law reform. Our mission is to develop our students' readiness for life. We do this work in close cooperation with guardians. Using the Pro-school model, we actively develop a positive operational culture, emphasizing the importance of teaching and guiding social skills to support desired behavior. Our goal is for students to develop into confident, enthusiastic learners with solid basic skills and good school skills. At Viertola, we are jointly developing a more communal, active, and participatory school culture. We operate at two locations, Tikkari (Tikkurila Pavilion School) and Jokiranta. We have approximately 800 students, all of whom are general education students in grades 1-6. There are about 60 teachers and 30 school assistants/nurses. In addition to general education groups, our school offers special education and hospital education. We also provide Swedish immersion instruction for grades 1-6. As a broad-scope special education teacher, you will work collaboratively with four other special education teachers, other staff, students, and guardians. Our staff perceives the work environment as positive, and collaboration across grade levels is active. Classroom teachers work in pairs or trios. Our collaboration methods include sharing ideas, joint lesson planning, and co-teaching. We offer a positive, enthusiastic work community and a supportive atmosphere for well-being. We expect good emotional and interpersonal skills and a caring approach to teaching. We value flexibility and proactive work attitude.
