You are diligent like a wasp. We have a substitute position for a support childcare worker in Ymmerstan preschool, working with the groups of Foxes and Wolves. The support childcare worker operates on the same principles as a preschool childcare worker. Both groups have several children requiring support, so you will plan your work accordingly in each group. With your help, we enable small group activities, flexible groupings, and individual guidance for children. During preschool, you facilitate learning-supportive teaching arrangements and group-specific support methods. You are responsible for the upbringing, but you are not included in the staff-to-child ratio. The preschool operates in Ymmerstan School premises at Ristihaantie 5. We value versatile skills and experience from various work backgrounds. You can also be changing careers; we will train all our employees for their tasks. We support the development of your skills and also enable studies alongside work. Workplace name and address: Ymmerstan Daycare / Preschool, Ristihaantie 5 Working hours: 38 hours 15 minutes/week The position is fixed-term from August 3, 2026, to June 4, 2027. The selection will be made after the application period ends and interviews are completed. The planned interview dates are May 19–31, 2026. Eligibility requirement: Qualification according to the Finnish Act on Early Childhood Education (540/2018, Section 28, Regulation 753/2018, Sections 3 and 4). Suitable educational background includes a basic degree in education and guidance, social and health care, or an equivalent qualification, including or supplemented with extensive studies in child care, upbringing, and education. For example, childcare worker, daycare worker, or practical nurse (child and youth care program). We require experience working with children needing support. The selected candidate must present a criminal record extract as specified in the Criminal Records Act, Section 6.2. The Infectious Diseases Act requires those working with preschool children to assess the risk of tuberculosis transmission. We also appreciate good teamwork skills and proficiency in Finnish.
