The City of Borgå's services in early childhood education are seeking childcare assistants for fixed-term employment from August 3, 2024, to November 24, 2026. The initial placement is at Skogsstjärnan Daycare. The daycare is modern and large, with many children and staff, but the atmosphere is cozy and calm. Each child has their own safe group and trusted adults. We collaborate with our partner team, for example during early mornings. Each partner team has its own entrance. The daycare has many shared, versatile spaces that enable various activities, which are used alternately. The staff possess diverse knowledge and experience, and help is always available. It is enjoyable to plan and implement joint projects. Our motto is: Think that you are you and I am I. Together, we are well. As a childcare assistant in early childhood education, you participate in planning, implementing, evaluating, and developing the activities together with your team and the rest of the daycare staff, in accordance with the early childhood education plan and the preschool education plan. Together with your team, you are responsible for the care and upbringing of the children. We are looking for a childcare assistant who brings warmth, joy, and courage to everyday life. The most important thing for us is that you are a sensitive educator who can meet children and their guardians with appreciation and respect. We expect that you have: Joy and courage, and a willingness to engage in play with children A sensitive and appreciative approach to both children and guardians Good teamwork skills and the ability to function constructively as part of a team Problem-solving skills and a flexible attitude to everyday situations Motivation to develop your professional skills Ability to work independently and take responsibility Knowledge in arts and crafts, which can enrich children's daily life with creativity and experiences Digital skills. The early childhood education environment in Borgå offers a child-friendly setting that supports children's growth and learning. We focus on diverse activity environments, high-quality facilities, and continuous development. We support both language groups equally. For staff, we offer regular training and take care of working conditions. We encourage our staff to further their education and develop their expertise within early childhood education. We ensure a smooth start with a comprehensive induction program. In your work, you will be supported not only by colleagues and the manager but also by specialists in early childhood education and special education teachers. Qualifications are in accordance with the Act on Early Childhood Education (540/2018). The working hours are 38.25 hours per week. The salary is determined according to the level salary in AKTA. The task-based salary for those meeting the qualification requirements is €2,554.82–€2,602.24 per month. Before the appointment, the selected candidate must present a criminal record extract in accordance with the Act on the Control of Criminal Background of Persons Working with Children (504/2002) and a valid screening questionnaire regarding tuberculosis in accordance with §55 of the Communicable Diseases Act.
