Lead Accountant, SSAB, Hämeenlinna - Academic Work

As a Lead Accountant, you will work on a variety of tasks combining practical work and development projects. You will be involved in general ledger accounting and closing processes, ensuring their timely and accurate execution according to the global schedule. Additionally, you will work extensively on process standardization, harmonization, and automation development, implementing new functions and overseeing team skill development. The ideal candidate has strong expertise and experience in the Record-to-Report process and the ability to drive development projects and communicate effectively with various stakeholders. Responsible for the Record-to-Report process (including general ledger, reconciliations, and closing processes), process standardization, harmonization, and automation development, ensuring compliance with IFRS standards and local accounting practices (GAAP), overseeing internal controls, and acting as a contact person for internal customers, auditors, and business units. Requirements include strong expertise in the Record-to-Report process and general ledger accounting, IFRS knowledge, ability to lead development projects, excellent IT skills with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), analytical, proactive, development-oriented work style, excellent collaboration and communication skills, and fluency in Finnish and English.
