We are looking for positive and proactive forklift operators to join our team, who do not shy away from physical work and are not intimidated by winter cold or snow. In your work, you will receive arriving flights and prepare them for departure – including both luggage and passengers. As a forklift operator, you will be responsible for unloading and loading aircraft and participating in various stages of aircraft turnaround. Daily tasks may also include driving stairs and operating other ground handling equipment. Training sessions are held in weeks 38 and 41, with a basic course lasting about three days, which is unpaid. After the basic course, a practical orientation period begins, during which you will learn on the job under guidance. Requirements from applicants: - At least 18 years old - Clean criminal record (a basic security clearance will be conducted for selected candidates) - At least B driving license - Proficiency in Finnish and English (training is in Finnish, and English is the general language of aviation) - Good physical condition (work is sometimes performed in difficult postures) The position is subject to the law on the protection of privacy in working life. A drug test is required as part of the employment health check. Aircraft loading can be hectic and involves shift work. Success in this role requires stress tolerance, flexibility, and reliability. The work is irregular shift work, and you must be able to move around the airport at all hours. Rovaniemi Airport has limited public transportation, so a car or other means of transportation is essential for commuting. The employer cannot provide accommodation during employment. The work begins in October-November and continues until March 2027. Forklift Operator: starting from €2205.06/month + additional pay according to collective agreement, typically totaling an extra €300-600/month depending on shifts.
