Orivesi is located within good transportation links, approximately 40 kilometers from Tampere. The position is at the Orivesi hospital department, which has 25 patient beds. You will work alongside a specialist in geriatrics and general medicine, providing senior support and guidance in geriatrics or general medicine specialization services. This is an acute ward where patients are admitted mainly through emergency services and for continued care from specialized healthcare units. The ward treats adult patients who are usually admitted for post-surgical rehabilitation, due to acute infections, exacerbation of chronic conditions, or palliative care. The average length of stay is about eight days. In the same premises, Orivesi also offers outpatient services, radiology, and laboratory services. The physician's role on the ward is diverse, including tasks such as: - Clinical examination of patients and disease diagnosis - Planning and implementing comprehensive patient care - Assessing functional capacity and overall condition, and planning treatment pathways - Minor procedures according to your skills and interests - Ensuring safe discharge and planning follow-up care We offer a versatile and challenging role where you will be part of a motivated and skilled multidisciplinary team. The qualification requirement is a licensed medical degree in Finland. We require experience in basic doctor duties (ward work), a development-oriented attitude, and good interaction and teamwork skills. Good oral and written Finnish language skills are also required. A relevant specialist qualification is an advantage. The selected candidate must have valid vaccination protection according to the Infectious Diseases Act (1227/2016) section 48 and a tuberculosis clearance for respiratory diseases as per section 55. Additionally, the candidate must present the required health certificates within one month of starting work. The permanent position begins on August 31, 2026, or as agreed.
