For families with children, the city is a safe place to live, with well-maintained basic services. Saloisten Daycare is seeking a permanent early childhood education teacher starting August 3, 2026. Job Description As an early childhood education teacher, you will lead your own team in pedagogical early childhood education work and, together with your team members, ensure the delivery of quality early childhood education in your group. You will play a significant role in developing the shared pedagogy of the entire daycare in collaboration with other early childhood education teachers and the daycare director. Your duties include close cooperation with staff, guardians, and other partners. Qualifications We expect you to have: - Knowledge of documents guiding early childhood education and preschool education - Sufficient proficiency in Finnish - Good pedagogical skills - Leadership skills - Good cooperation and interaction skills - Ability to sensitively engage with children We value an enthusiastic, positive, and developmental work attitude, as well as skills related to emotional and interactional work methods. Eligibility Requirements The eligibility requirement for the position is a qualification as an early childhood education teacher, with conditions determined by the Early Childhood Education Act (540/2018) sections 26 or 27 and transitional provisions of section 75. In the absence of qualified applicants, the position may be filled temporarily by a person without the required qualification. The selected candidate must provide a criminal record extract according to Act 504/2002 and a tuberculosis statement according to Section 55 of the Infectious Diseases Act before starting employment. Employment Terms Terms of employment are governed by the municipal teaching staff collective agreement (OVTES). A six (6) month probation period applies.
