We are looking for two social workers for the Pohjanmaa wellbeing region, with initial placement in child protection in Vaasa. Would you like to do meaningful and interesting work with children, youth, and their families? As a child protection social worker, you will be responsible for matters concerning children both in open child protection services and for children placed outside their homes. We work in teams, and currently there are nine child protection teams in the Pohjanmaa wellbeing region. Our organization employs three lead social workers and a head of the child protection service unit. You will have support from service secretaries and a lawyer. You have the opportunity and right to supervision and support from a mentor. In the Pohjanmaa wellbeing region, we actively develop child protection social work by strengthening a child-centered approach in practice and promoting the realization of children's rights. Our work focuses on the child and their everyday life, relationships, and personal experiences. Child protection social work is long-term and interaction-based work. It involves close cooperation with other actors involved in the child's case. The work is based on building trusting relationships and finding solutions together with children and their networks that are in the child's best interest. Experience in child protection or social work with children and families is considered an advantage. A valid driver's license is also required. Qualifications: Appropriate higher university degree, including or supplemented by major studies or equivalent university studies in social work. Licensed social worker according to the Act on Social Welfare Professionals (817/2015, §§ 7 and 9). Good oral and written skills in both national languages of our country. The selected candidate must have a valid vaccination against infectious diseases according to the Infectious Diseases Act (1227/2016) § 48. Additionally, before starting the position, the candidate must submit a medical certificate of health and a criminal record extract as required by the Criminal Records Act § 6, subsection 2. A trial period applies.
