Työtehtävän kuvaus

The Basic Education and Upper Secondary Education Services of the City of Porvoo are seeking a Head Supervisor for a permanent position starting August 1, 2026, for morning and afternoon activities in the small classes at Albert Edelfelt School. The working hours are 38.15 hours per week. Albert Edelfelt School is a comprehensive school with approximately 630 students in grades 1-9, located in the Näsin area downtown. Community and safety are fundamental to our school: students are provided with a familiar and secure nine-year learning path under one roof. We value children and young people highly and believe that the quality of education is built from everyday interactions. The school employs about 90 staff members daily. The school has a good team spirit: daily activities are characterized by shared efforts and humor. Special features include Swedish immersion instruction for grades 1-9 and 8 special classes, seven of which serve students requiring intensive support. The morning and afternoon activities for students requiring intensive support (short-term care by the well-being services area) offer activities before and after school hours and during school holidays for eligible students. These activities are held in the same premises as the small classes at Albert Edelfelt School. The responsibilities of the Head Supervisor include personnel and financial management of the morning and afternoon activities, as well as planning, implementation, development, and evaluation coordination. The Head Supervisor will work closely with Albert Edelfelt School, guardians, and other partners. The role also includes responsibility for medication management in the activities (according to THL guidelines). Applicants must have a higher education degree or a previous vocational qualification. We also require good cooperation and interaction skills, readiness for teamwork, and an interest in supporting children and young people. Special education training and work experience are considered an advantage. Qualifications are in accordance with the Act on the Qualification Requirements for Social Welfare Professionals (272/2005). Before appointment, the selected candidate must provide a criminal record extract in accordance with the Act on Background Checks for Persons Working with Children (504/2002). The probation period is six months. Salary is based on the Collective Agreement for Municipal Personnel (KVTES: 5KOU52C1). Please submit your application by June 10, 2026, at 3:00 PM via the 'Apply for Job' link. For more information, contact Principal Janne Salmela at 040 152 4197 and Teemu Pohjola Korhonen at 040 194 1565.
