Read more: www.tuni.fi We are seeking a Vice Rector for the University of Tampere to strengthen the university's strategic leadership and develop education at the national and international levels for the period 1.1.2027–31.12.2031. As Vice Rector responsible for education, you will lead the university's education activities and their strategic development as part of the rector's office. In your role: Ensure high quality in education and support the achievement of the university's strategic goals Work closely with the Rector and other Vice Rectors (research, strategy implementation support, stakeholder cooperation, and partnerships) Monitor international trends in education and national education policy and legislation, and oversee their implementation at the university Promote students’ overall well-being, student satisfaction, internationalization, and attractiveness in accordance with the university's strategy Participate in the management team activities Lead internal councils and preparatory groups related to education within the university Represent the university actively in key national and international networks. The specific responsibilities of Vice Rectors are decided by the Rector in accordance with the university's regulations. The position of Vice Rector is full-time and is filled for the period 1.1.2027–31.12.2031. The workplace is in Tampere. Requirements To succeed in this role, you need: A doctoral degree Broad and diverse knowledge of the academic environment Strong expertise in higher education systems and policies Experience and proven track record in developing university education and teaching Strong, demonstrated leadership experience in managing a networked and multidisciplinary organization Experience working in an international community and building networks Excellent collaboration and communication skills Proficiency in Finnish and English.
