The City of Kajaani is seeking a full-time substitute teacher for special education on a fixed-term contract at Keskuskoulu from August 1, 2026, to July 31, 2027. The special education teacher will be responsible for teaching and guiding students requiring individual support in a special class 6E. The role requires good subject knowledge in elementary school subjects and the ability to differentiate instruction according to students' individual needs. The teacher will prepare pedagogical documents for students and collaborate closely with guardians, student welfare staff, and other partners. Keskuskoulu has a team of special education teachers and special class teachers that provides professional support and expertise. The special education teacher will work alongside one or more teaching assistants. Good collaboration and interaction skills are essential for success. The salary is in accordance with OVTES. The salary for a qualified substitute teacher in special education ranges from €3,029.51 to €3,243.27. Qualifications include eligibility as a special education teacher (teaching staff qualification requirements, regulation no 986/1998). Certificates demonstrating eligibility will be reviewed during the interview. If qualified candidates are unavailable, other applicants will be considered. Priority will be given to laid-off or temporarily unemployed employees of the City of Kajaani who meet the qualification requirements.
