We are seeking an assistant through the Central Finland Wellbeing Services County for a fixed-term summer position from June 1 to August 31, 2026, for a 23-year-old man in Jyväskylä's Kortepohja. The employer has mild intellectual disability, features of autism spectrum disorder, and activity and attention difficulties. He lives independently in his own rental apartment, moves independently, and the work does not involve lifting or transferring. The assistant supports him in engaging in meaningful leisure activities and social interaction. The work is offered variably: 20 hours in June, 30 hours in July, and 20 hours in August. Shifts are planned flexibly with the employer according to his schedule. Tasks include assisting in leisure activities such as outdoor walks, swimming, gym visits, library visits, bowling, going to the movies, and playing at a rally simulator. The employer is interested in rallying, so assistance at rallies or similar events may also be requested. The assistant provides presence, encouragement, and clear guidance during activities. The employer needs motivation and reminders for movement and tasks like cleaning. We expect the assistant to have a calm, patient, and consistent approach. Ability to give clear and simple instructions. Understanding that routines and predictable schedules are important to the employer. Good communication skills and the ability to treat the employer as an individual. Previous experience working with persons with intellectual disabilities or autism spectrum disorder is considered an advantage but is not required.
