The Project Manager works on the Rovaseutu Forest Network - Climate-Resilient Nature Management project, which is implemented in collaboration with Rovaniemi Education Consortium REDU. The project is funded by the Lapland Vitality Center Juuret tiedossa funding program. The goal of the project is to increase forest owners' capacity to make research-based decisions and thereby promote climate-resilient forest use. The project also aims to strengthen cooperation between forest owners, authorities, educational institutions, and other stakeholders in the Rovaseutu area. Activities include workshops, seminars, targeted visits, digital learning materials, and spatial data-based presentations. The project plans 1-3 cross-property natural management interventions and develops new cooperation-based operational models among different actors. The Project Manager is responsible for the overall implementation of the project in collaboration with REDU's project coordinator. The Project Manager acts as a coordinator between the project, city departments, and stakeholders, and is responsible for communication, impact assurance, project administration, and reporting. The position is located within the City of Rovaniemi's corporate administration as part of the team implementing climate projects. A suitable university degree is required. We expect applicants to have: - Knowledge of climate-resilient forest management and carbon sinks, - Understanding of the operational environment of forest owners and forestry sector actors, - Ability to translate research data into practical actions, - Good communication skills and proficiency in Finnish, both spoken and written, - Good interaction and cooperation skills, and the ability to operate in a multidisciplinary network. Experience in implementing publicly funded projects and in the forestry or environmental sector is considered an advantage. Salary and employment terms are determined according to the municipal collective agreement. The monthly salary is 4015 euros, with possible additional pay based on previous work experience.
