Senior/Lead Engineer - mekaniikkasuunnittelu, liikkuva kalusto - Etteplan Oyj - Etätyö - Globaali

We are strengthening our mobile equipment design team and are looking for solution-oriented senior or lead designers at our Turku office to develop and renew our customers' products. In this role, you will work independently or as a key part of our team, designing and developing vehicles, mobile work machines, and other demanding machines and equipment. Your main responsibilities include managing your own design entities and leading larger projects, integrating different design disciplines into a functional whole. You will work on customer development and design assignments, primarily focusing on vehicle and mobile work machine design, but tasks may extend to other machines, vehicles, boats/ships, and equipment. Industries may include defense, industrial machinery, or other demanding special vehicles. You have at least 5 years of experience in designing vehicles, work machines, or related mechanics and technology, with knowledge of equipment, component selection, and layout in tight spaces. You can lead and develop a team, make justified design decisions, and evaluate workloads and schedules realistically. You understand the basics of steel and possibly aluminum structures, bending, joining, machining, and welding. You hold a degree in engineering or DI from a relevant field such as mechanical engineering or vehicle technology. You are proficient in 3D design software and PDM/PLM systems, especially Siemens NX and Teamcenter. You have good interaction skills and creative problem-solving ability, working fluently with various design disciplines including technical calculations, simulation, electrical and automation engineering, software engineering, testing, and technical product information. You communicate fluently in Finnish and English, both written and spoken. We also value customer-oriented work attitude, good teamwork skills, and the ability to inspire others towards common goals. Readiness for supervisory work and special expertise in electronic actuators, power transmission applications, lightweight structures, or hydraulics is appreciated. Experience in project management, supplier, customer, and stakeholder collaboration, cost reduction, innovation methods, and interest in AI tools for design, product development, and product management are also valued.
