The Vihanti Comprehensive School is seeking a full-time substitute teacher (home economics) for the period from August 5, 2026, to June 5, 2027. Our school is a rural school with 249 students in grades 1-9, including several special classes and small groups, in addition to general education classes. Vihanti Comprehensive School moved to new premises at Vihanti School Center in spring 2021. Skills Applicants are expected to have good social interaction and cooperation skills, initiative, and a willingness and ability to collaborate. An advantage is strong pedagogical competence and readiness to differentiate instruction and develop student support. It is also advantageous if the applicant can teach other subjects in grades 7-9, including small groups. Qualifications Qualifications are based on the decree on the qualifications of education personnel (986/1998). In the absence of qualified applicants, the position can be filled by a person without the required degree. Original certificates of qualification must be presented during the interview. Employment relationship Salary and working conditions are determined according to the Municipal Education Personnel Collective Agreement (OVTES). The basic salary for teachers in Raahe exceeds the scale specified in OVTES. The selected candidate must provide a health certificate and a criminal record extract related to working with children, issued within the last six months, within 30 days of the decision. A trial period of up to half the employment period is used for fixed-term positions.
