Pattasten School is seeking a SUBSTITUTE TEACHER for a special education class for the period from September 1, 2026, to April 30, 2027. Job Description We are looking for a competent special education teacher to join our team at Pattasten School, interested in developing special education and activities. The fixed-term position is for grades 8. Qualifications We require good collaboration skills, a community-oriented work approach, and proficiency in various teaching and assessment methods. We hope you have diverse experience in special education and multidisciplinary cooperation. We expect good classroom management skills and the ability to commit to activities based on positive pedagogy. You will work with a teaching assistant and collaborate closely with other special education teachers and student welfare services at our school. Qualifications Requirements Qualifications are determined according to the decree on the qualifications of teaching staff (986/1998). If qualified applicants are not available, the position may also be filled by a person without the required degree. Original certificates of qualification must be presented during the interview. Employment Relationship Salary and working conditions are determined according to the Municipal Education Personnel Collective Agreement (OVTES). The basic salary of a teacher in Raahe exceeds the scale salary according to OVTES. The selected candidate must, within 30 days of receiving the employment decision, present a satisfactory health certificate and a criminal record extract related to working with children, issued within the last six months. We use a trial period in fixed-term employment, which is at most half of the employment duration.
