Sandvik Mining and Construction Oy’s Tampere site is a global technology and manufacturing center for Underground Drilling equipment. The Training Center of Excellence team is seeking a skilled and forward-thinking Digital Driller Engineer to lead the development and deployment of simulator-based training solutions for selected underground drill rig models. This role is pivotal in advancing our journey towards intelligent drilling automation, a digitalized product offering. The role is permanent and based in Tampere (Myllypuro), Finland. Your mission As a Digital Driller Engineer, your mission is to shape the future of underground drilling by translating customer needs and evolving industry trends into a compelling product vision. You will take ownership of selected digital drilling products throughout their lifecycle—ensuring they deliver market relevance, superior quality, and promoting safe work practises. Your role is pivotal in maintaining competitiveness and driving innovation in automation and simulation. You will lead cross-functional and cross-border cooperation, align priorities and fostering strong partnerships with internal teams and external stakeholders.Your main responsibilities Provide technical support and guidance to customers using the Digital Driller™ simulatorAssist in setup, configuration and integration of simulator systemsDeliver hands-on training sessions for operators and maintenance teams, both at the factory and remotelyDemonstrate Digital Driller™ simulator capabilities to different stakeholders internally/externallyCollaborate with internal teams to improve simulator features, training content and documentationDigital Driller™ simulator integration to new products and technologies (Artificial Intelligence/VR/XR/troubleshooting kits/test walls etc.)Troubleshoot hardware/software issues and escalate complex cases to product line and suppliersSupport product launches and customer onboarding for new simulator modulesYour background and what we find important B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Engineering (preferably in automation, electrics or mining technology)Knowledge on CANBUS and protocolsExperience with underground drilling equipment or training simulators is a plusStrong communication and customer service skillsPositive and energetic mindset - you enjoy working in an international business environmentAbility to work independently and travel as neededFluent in English; other languages are a bonusWhat’s in it for you?We offer you an interesting role with high impact and high visibility, in a truly international environment as well as opportunities for your professional development.
